Departs Tuesday 3rd May 2022
Wednesday 4th (BLD)
With a knowledgeable local guide on board our coach, this morning we visit many of the historic sights and picturesque vistas within the town limits, learning of the development of the district, including stories of the early settlers in the Tumut Valley.
Throughout the day we will include visits to the African Violet Farm, (where we will be provided with a light lunch), the Tumut Broom Factory and the majestic old Heritage listed ‘Montreal Theatre”.
Tuesday 3rd (D)
INTO THE HIGH COUNTRY
This holiday commences when we depart from Campbelltown heading south along the Hume Highway. After joining the Federal Highway south of Goulburn, we pause for a cuppa on the shore of Lake George. Back into our coach and bypassing Canberra we finally arrive in Cooma for a break to purchase lunch at one of the many
venues in the main street. Suitably nourished we continue southbound where we turn onto the Snowy Mountains Highway. This change of direction takes us through the village of Adaminaby. Continuing onward we enter the
northern extremity of Kosciuszko National Park.
Along the way we pass through Kiandra, now just a memory of its former glory. Still heading into the afternoon sun we reach the village of Talbingo, home of “T3,” one of the many Hydro Power Stations in the Snowy Scheme. Just a short country drive until we reach our destination of Tumut where we stay for the next 3 nights.
