Another year half over, so it must be time for the annual event known as “Yulefest’. This year we again venture into the Southern Highlands and the little village of Bundanoon.
The owners of the Bundanoon Country Inn have survived the recent bush fires through the Southern Highlands. Following some minor investment in the restoration of this lovely building, they are now back in business. With many years of experience in the tourism industry Bundanoon Country Inn are breathing new life into the village.
After a short break for our morning tea on the shoreline of Lake Alexandra in Mittagong, we continue our southbound journey through the townships of Bowral and Moss Vale. Our trip then takes us through some very “English” looking countryside and the village of Exeter, where we again drive alongside the main south railway line.
Finally, we arrive in Bundanoon, known more for the annual Scottish event when the town becomes “Brigadoon”.
At the restaurant we settle down ready for this special meal and celebrate “Christmas in July” in the Southern Highlands. After yet another great day out, we reboard our coach for the journey along the busiest road in the country (the Hume Highway) and set our sights for home.
